What kind of wines to expect
WINE SELECTION
Wines made with nature in mind
We do not believe that organic or biodynamic wines are neccessarily better, but we do believe that wine is made in the vineyard. And if a winemaker works organic or biodynamic, they have to spend a lot of hours in the vineyards and therefore knows the grapes very well. Also it is better for the environment and soil health not to spray. In general more wines will come from CO2 neutral companies.
High quality wines
Everybody has its own taste, but Joy in a Bottle believes there is something that we like to call: objective quality. Objective quality is judging a wine without getting your personal taste in the way. This means that all the wines that you can expect in the box, are at least among the best examples within its origin and variety.
Freshness and balance
For my personal taste, both wine and food need freshness. You can expect wines with linearity and tension, which will invite for a second glass.
Well sourced
As Mats tries 4000 wines a year, we have a lot of contacts throughout the world of wine. We will go around to winemakers, talk to study & wine friends and go to wine fairs throughout the world to source wines. And only the best six wines will find a play in the winebox.
Diversity
As the wineworld is so diverse and broad, expect wines which are diverse and broad. That means that every variety and every region in the world, as long as the wine fits our quality standards, can be a Joy in a Bottle.
